Just started the new web site for B-More Dog, our Baltimore dog/pit bull outreach/eduction project.
Check out what's up so far at: www.bmoredog.org
Right now it's super basic, but we're working on content and hopefully over the next few weeks it will start to come together with some good info and articles. And pictures, too! Because everybody loves pictures!

This group scares me
Families and Dogs Against Fighting Breeds
From what I understand, this group is behind the push for BSL in Seattle. They are affiliated with Dogs Bite, another group that I find particularly frightening. Part of what troubles me about both of these groups is how wholesome, organized, and sane their messages are. Used to be that anti-dog folks always seemed shrill and fanatical--this brings a whole new look to the pit bull-hating public.

Congratulations Aja, Puppy, and Esco!
Congratulations to Aja Harris and her two APBTs Puppy and Esco. Both dogs earned their SCH IIIs today at the Commonwealth Working Dog Club's spring trial. Really nice work, really nice dogs!

Yay, our scorebook is here!

Doc's DVG Scorebook has finally arrived! We sent in our paperwork for a scorebook to the DVG last year, and they didn't send it because they wanted a pedigree on Doc. But Doc's a rescue dog, so I don't have any papers for him--just an LP number from the UKC, registering him as a neutered American pit bull terrier with limited privileges to participate in events.
My options were to try to get them more info from the UKC to show that Doc is a pit bull, or to just trial him as a "Mischling," which means mixed breed in German. I really didn't want to have to call him a mutt, so I gave Ron a faxed copy of his UKC registration card and he sent that to Germany, and I guess that was good enough for them. Because now we have a scorebook for Doc (Sullivan) American Pit Bullterrier. I like how they spell "bullterrier" as one word. I wonder if that's a typo or how they think it ought to be.
